An urban seating area which allows physical distancing as well as social interaction.

Think about a moment you are happy in. Lying in the grass. Feeling the sunshine on your skin. Reading a good book. Having a conversation with an old friend. Enjoying your coffee and some good music.

Our idea was to create a space for all these moments. The result is an urban seating area made up of modular hexagons with different heights. A combination of wooden hexagons and framed grass areas transforms the monotony of grey city squares into a social pattern. The modules can be arranged in many ways and should also give the possibility to keep distance and privacy. The dimension of the modules is chosen considering different activities such as lying, doing yoga, having a picnic or meeting up with friends.
