How can we improve bike lanes and bring more green in the streets?

To make cycling safer and to protect bicycle riders as well as pedestrians from uncomfortable weather conditions, the neighborhood balconies can be erected anywhere in Vienna, Tel Aviv or any other dense city where the streets are not too narrow. The metal structure is supported by columns which separate the bicycle lane from the traffic lane and prevent cars from driving too close. The dimensions depend on the street width and height of the building’s first floor (so that the roof can be accessible through the flats).
On top of the structure the neighborhood shares a rooftop garden whose intensive planting improves the climate and air quality of the city and offers a place to recreate or meet.
